"PWN Means Business"
Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Professional Women's Network of the Monterey Peninsula (PWN). We are the largest organization of professional women (and a few outstanding businessmen) on the Monterey Peninsula. Members have widespread contacts throughout Monterey County and beyond. Our membership is a diverse group, comprised of entrepreneurs, professionals, and employees. Members look first within the network for products or services they need, and actively promote and refer the businesses of fellow members.
PWN is dedicated to offering our members opportunities to network, establish mutually beneficial associations, and learn strategies to become more successful in growing their own business or forwarding their careers. In addition to our General Membership meetings, held the first Wednesday of the month at 5:45 pm, we host a monthly networking lunch, member business mixers, workshops and other events throughout the year.
PWN was founded in 1983, when five women joined together to establish a network for women in business. The first meeting began on a very dark and stormy night with the expectation that very few women would show up. As it turned out there was standing room only!
PWN awards $1000 - $3000 in scholarships annually to help women continue their college education. This is supported by our monthly benefit drawings and other PWN activities. Currently we award the scholarship money through Monterey Peninsula College.
Every year PWN selects one member to receive the prestigious Woman of the Year Award which is presented during our Annual Holiday Gala. This award is given to those individuals whose lives and work have impacted PWN members professionally and personally.
PWN welcomes guests to join us at our meetings for a nominal fee. Please see our meeting page and our member benefit page to learn what PWN can do for you.
